Educational Philosophy
WHAT I BELIEVE IN & STAND FOR
"There is no behavior that would upset you if you knew where it came from."

This single statement is something that has been the driving force of my teaching. I refuse to judge a student or jump to conclusions. As an educator, it is not only my responsibility, but my duty to help students grow as individuals. I am here for THEM. Therefore, I believe strongly that the classroom should be one of inclusion and comfort. The students in my classroom will know that I care about them and I am here for them. That is something I can promise.

Every kid is different. As a student not too long ago, I know what it is like to be judged and condemned before I was even given a chance. As a response to that, I would shut down. Immediately, I would think of that teacher's classroom as a hostile environment where I was refusing to learn or cooperate. This is unacceptable and something I will do anything to prevent it in my classroom.

I am an understanding person. The students are the reason I am here, so the students should be why I teach. I want them to succeed. I want them to grow in learners and as individuals. Through research, schooling, and experience I have taken on a passion for accommodations, personalized learning, and simply listening to the wants and needs of my students. No one is the same, so I will not treat them like that in my classroom. I will always push myself to create engaging and rigorous lessons. I will welcome every student as their own person. I will teach for the KIDS.

I know I will not be perfect at this, but this is something I can promise I will do with 110% effort. I am growing as an educator and will continue to research, experience, and absorb information to better myself as an understanding, empathetic, accommodating, and personalized educator. My goal is for my students to walk into my classroom every day knowing that I am there for them and I am on their side cheering and supporting them. I cannot promise perfection as a human being, but I can promise that I am here for the students and for their growth as individuals.
